Set in Poland of the 1930's, this film is a dramatic story of an outstanding surgeon who suddenly loses his memory after being mugged and finds himself doing odd jobs on country farms. When he runs across a young man who desperately needs medical attention, he takes it upon himself to help the young man out. Based on a famous 1930's novel by Tadeusz Dolega-Mostowicz (1898-1939); the second rendition of the first made by Michal Waszynski in 1937.
