Metal thimble featuring a relief image of a European bison,
Żubr in Polish, also known as a wisent. As the heaviest surviving land animal in Europe, the Żubr was almost annihilate by the end of World War I. This endangered species can now be found in the Białowieża Forest preserve in Poland and Belarus. On the opposite side the thimble is a relief image of the contemporary Polish White Eagle. Below both images is "POLSKA" lettering.
