It is not surely too surprising that we consider books the best gift on every birthday. But with what book celebrate the birthday of Norman Davies? With the academic scholars volume full of articles? Of course not! The idea we sought from the sole jubilarian: In Europe, Norman Davies placed the capsules on the most important and interesting events in the history of the continent. We decided to gather in one book "the Capsules about Davies" - short memoirs written by people with whom Norman Davies had a chance to meet, and whom he considers important in his life, career and creativity. Capsules are serious and funny - praised and critical. The book is enriched with over a hundred of unknown photos and illustrations, and as a gift from friends around the world, we have combined the Polish and English language versions in one volume.

Oczywiście, że nie! Pomysłu szukaliśmy u samego jubilata: Norman Davies umieścił w Europie kapsułki o najważniejszych i najciekawszych wydarzeniach z dziejów kontynentu. My postanowiliśmy zebrać w jednej książce "kapsułki o Daviesie" - krótkie wspomnienia spisane przez osoby, z którymi Norman Davies miał okazję się zetknąć, i które uważa za ważne w swoim życiu, karierze i twórczości. Są kapsułki poważne i zabawne, są pochwalne i krytyczne. Książkę wzbogaciliśmy ponad setką nieznanych zdjęć i ilustracji.
