Painted by an unknown artist in the 13th Century, the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary is currently housed in Rome since the late 15th century. Reproduced and placed in many homes worldwide, the icon carries the message "You can come to me". On the left side of Mary and baby Jesus is the Archangel Michael holding the lance and sponge of the crucifixion of Jesus. While on the right side is the Archangel Gabriel barring a 3-bar cross and nails. The Greek initials on top read Mother of God, Michael Archangel, Gabriel Archangel, and Jesus Christ, respectively. This type of icon is a later type of a Hodegetria composition, where Mary is pointing to her Son, known as the Theotokos of the Passion. The "Our Lady of Perpetual Help" Day is June 27th.
