Nowhere in Europe is there a capital city as tragically afflicted by history as the one lying close to the continent's heart, the Polish capital of Warsaw. This book presents the fate of the city in the twentieth century—a dynamically developed capital city in the beginning of the 20th century, almost completely destroyed during World War II and a modern rebuilt European metropolis.
The book is divided into three chapters, entitled:
1. A Capital Reborn
2. The Apocalypse
3. Reconstruction and Modern
